Uncertain Passion

uncertainpassiona gentle caress

the touch of your lips

in a lover’s kiss

my heart skips

another beat.

how can i tell you

what you mean to me

i don’t want to restrain you if

you want to be free

to fly.

the words die in my throat

and fall away, unspoken.

how can i know what you’re feeling

when i don’t have the right to even ask

and the doubts crowd in about people you’ve loved

people you never mention

and i wonder who else is in your life.

in a frozen moment

your eyes can bring me to my knees

and we fall together in uncertain passion.

for now that is enough.
